Charter for Compassion Pakistan has partnered with Sim Sim Hamara (Sesame Street) to design and launch a guest character on the show who will embody the principles of The Charter for Compassion http://charterforcompassion.org/share/the-charter.
The character will appear in the show as a guest, deliver various public service announcements, and participate in outreach activities.

The purpose of Sim Sim Hamara pctv.org.pk is to support the development of a children’s educational program that utilizes television and other media to increase access to high quality early education. Additionally, the program aims to elevate the capacity within Pakistan to sustain the production of educational media.
The project is aimed at engaging the children of Pakistan in an entertaining, creative and culturally appropriate learning process through multi-media programming and tools for the promotion of positive attitudes, development of cognitive abilities and knowledge of basic life skills with gender equity, recognition of learning abilities of children in remote areas and education in emergencies as cross cutting themes. The four-year, $20 million award provides for the creation of 78 television episodes in Urdu which will run weekly on national Pakistani television and 52 television episodes in four additional languages (Pashtu, Baluchi, Punjabi, and Sindhi) to be broadcast on regional networks. The team will also create 130 radio episodes in 5 languages. In addition, over a three-year period, the grant will support the creation of an interactive website, 30 educational school fairs, 78 children’s songs, 600 live puppet shows and 600 mobile screenings across 90 districts.


Sim Sim Hamara officially launched on the 26th of November and the first episode will be aired at 5:30pm on Dec 10 and the repeat telecast will be at 9:30am next day on PTV Home.

Karen Armstrong is a religious historian and author of numerous books, 'The History of God, Mohammad: A Prophet for Our Time, Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life.'
The Charter for Compassion Society of Pakistan is a local initiative based upon the Charter for Compassion.
Our current focus areas include: Education, Media, Corporate, Civil Society, Health, and Environmental sectors.
The purpose of Charter for Compassion Society of Pakistan is to provide education and create awareness of the role of compassion in facilitating peaceful interactions at individual, national and global level.
